Snapshots

It's been a fairly busy week around these parts. I feel like I blinked and it's already the end of the week. The last time I shared snapshots from the phone, y'all seem to like them so I thought I'd keep that up. Though, I worn you, this post is a hodgepodge of sorts.

I recently hinted that we re-arranged our living room/dining room/everything but bedroom two weeks ago. I'm still working on getting a few new things like chairs. The other day The Husband said he wanted a bigger TV. Really?! Hell no.

No matter what size your space, there is always things you want to do, right? Well, maybe that's just me.

I bought these at Whole Foods last weekend.

Did you know that the Whole Foods at Columbus Circle has a bar inside? It's the perfect place for husbands to wait while you shop. And that's just what mine did! I also ended my shopping trip with a glass of wine. It was perfect.

I love my kitchen window. I often stand here in the mornings and evenings and glance downtown. We keep this window open on most days and always get a nice breeze. I love watching the sky change and the lights in the different buildings turn off and on.

Just yesterday, we celebrated two years of successfully sustaining the life of a being - Miss Bailey. I cannot believe how quickly the two years has gone and to think of all we have learned along the way. She is truly one special pup, even when she barks at certain dogs on our street. Unfortunately, I think she's racist (to dogs not people!) but that's another post.

Also a special congrats to my good friends, Liz and Aaron! They welcomed a little girl this week, Amelia. Babies and Weddings. Most of our friends are doing one or the other. What about y'all?

Happy Easter Weekend

If I was a bit more creative (and not so lazy) I probably would have decorated for Easter. Instead, I will pretend these images are from my apartment, when in fact, they are not. I love spring though. Everything is so fresh and clean and pastel-ee. Yes, that's a word in my vocabulary. I like to add "ee's" when describing things.

Last night, The Husband and I took our friend Loosh (another Southern in the City) out to Target. I love going to Target in the "country." It's only about a 20 minute ride to Edge Water, NJ (the town sounds a lot more lovely than it actually is). Our friend just moved into his own place and needed to buy some things. And by some things, I mean everything. We had so much fun walking the down the aisles helping him find the right pots and pans and towels and things. Though, I kept getting off-track suggesting he needed a cute lamp or a decorative bowl to put things in, or a cow creamer. I really want a cow creamer even though I hardly use cream. Just looks cute. We bought so much stuff. I think four carts full (one being mine). It was a tight ride back to the city.

Of course, I can never get out of target without spending $100 or more. :) If you can, I need your secret.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Hooked on NC

Despite the fact that we live in a small space, Bailey dog has lots of stuff. And she should, right? She's our child dog and we spoil her. On most days you can find her toys strewn about the apartment while she relaxes her paws on one of her three beds (she has two herself and rotates between them and our own bed). When she's had enough of the bed(s), she takes herself to the sunniest spot in the kitchen to sunbathe and rest her eyes. She lives a hard life.

We used to keep her walking gear hanging on a small "B" hook by the door. She has two harnesses - one for walking and one for running, a leash and a collar that she only wears outside. Most days, these would get tangled hanging up together or fall to the ground where they would stay. It was quite the eyesore. Then, I saw this on Esty.

I knew it would be the perfect size to hold all of Bailey's walking gear in addition to fitting nicely in our entry. Best of all, it was in the shape of my favorite state and painted in my favorite color.

I finally hung the NC hook this weekend and love it. It goes well with our wall of maps (I still need to snap a shot for y'all to see). Most importantly, Bailey's things have a place and that makes me (and her) happy.

In other decorating news, we've also recently rearranged our living room - thanks for the idea Sooze. Though, that reminds me that you haven't seen the before arrangement, so you here go.

BEFORE

AFTER
Opps! No photos yet. :) April fools? Once I finalize a few more things, I'll take the after shots. We bought a new kitchen table as this one was too little, even though The Husband could stand on it. Be back soon!
